Project Description

The proposed project is a basic how-to into the world of crypto-currency.

Project Summary

Crypto-currency is a fast growing new type of currency that has the potential to become a staple currency in the world. It can be a great business opportunity for both individuals and big businesses. The volatile pricing leads to either happiness or great despair. As of recent updates to the price it hasn’t changed too drastically to warrant completely selling all of your coins so you don’t suffer more.

Proposed Project

I intend on creating a wiki page that provides a small how-to along with a basic understanding of crypto-currency and setting up your own wallet. The key to this project is to make it easy to understand while still being packed with enough knowledge so there are no questions. I’ll begin the wiki with a brief description of crypto-currency and some basic history. There will be a video also showing a brief description of one of the crypto-currencies known as bitcoin. The first step will be how to create your own wallet. I will describe the different kinds of wallet along with their pros and cons. The next step will detail some of the ways of obtaining crypto-currency but will mostly talk about mining. The final page will just be a brief description of what you can spend your newly acquired coins on.

Experience

I have only recently gotten into the world of crypto-currency myself. I know a decent amount about it and can explain it to people that are not tech savvy in the least.

Learning Outcome

I hope to provide people that visit the wiki page with enough of an understanding about crypto-currency that they can delve into it on their own. It is also to try and make this digital currency more popular because I believe that it has great potential.
