My schooling at Suffolk County Community College has aided me in becoming a more capable and responsible individual. I am currently a Computer Science/Networking major and it has provided me with a greater understanding of computers and their inner workings. The knowledge I've gained from these classes have allowed me to troubleshoot problems that I've been having on my personal computer without having to resort to looking it up on the internet. I have taken classes that have made use of the various Microsoft Office programs and have an understanding of a majority of them.
My work experience hasn't been directly related to my major but I have made use of my knowledge of computers while working and my experience has helped mold me in to a better person. My current job is as a manager at a Tropical Smoothie Cafe. It is my responsibility to make sure that the store's employees keep working and that all customers leave the store happy. I still have all the work of a normal employee such as preparing food, making and taking orders, and cleaning. My job also requires me to handle money not only at the register but I have to make sure the safe is always at a specific amount and deposit the rest. I came into this job not being the most customer friendly but as I've worked there I have learned to be more personal with customers and connect with them rather than treat them poorly.
I created this project to give people a basic understanding of crypto-currency. It is a new type of digital currency that is growing fast and can be a little overwhelming when starting out. I provided a wikia link to a basic how-to that I wrote outlining the first steps into the world of crypto-currency in the top right corner of this page. I believe that this new digital currency has a bright future ahead of it once it manages to get through the hurdles of starting out and it stabilizes itself.
